Voting -- The Essence of Self-Government.

When a Detroit Cop shot a man with a weapon, the result is their future Mayor rushing foreword with a lawsuit against the city. The City says with a cheery smile "How much ya want and the check is in the mail, you see we have a new computer system to speed things up".

The chain of command.

bullet The Cop is hired by the Police Department.
bullet The Police Department is led by the Chief.
bullet The Chief is Selected by the Mayor and approved by the City Council.
bullet The Mayor and Council are elected by the Voters.
bullet So when voters elect a Mayor and Council they are setting the policy details that instruct the day to day actions of the Cop on the street.

When the Cop on the street is involved in an incident:

bulletThe Chief is not liable.
bulletThe City Council is not liable.
bulletThe Mayor is not liable.

The Voters are liable because:

bulletThey Elected the Mayor.
bulletThey Elected the City Council.
bulletThey are then responsible for the actions of the Chief and the Cop!

Voting for a Mayor and a City Council is therefore an extremely important decision making process. Look how the Voters of Detroit killed a Deaf Man with a rake! Maybe the Voters should pay!

The Big Rub.

The Voters are not liable either.

The point I am making here is easy to understand if you paid attention to Set Theory in grade school.

bullet One "Set" of people in Detroit are the Voters, all of the Registered Voters.
bullet Another Different "Set" of people in Detroit are the Taxpayers, all the Property Owners and others (like people who work in the City) who are taxed by the City.

The myth is that Voters and Taxpayers are the same people, the reality is that they are different "Sets" of people, with some people belonging to both sets

One "Set of People" create the policy and a different "Set of People" are responsible.

The big SCAM is:

Responsible people have no say and voting is just an "Opinion Poll", with no more liability than say voting for your favorite rap star for the Peoples Choice television award show.

NO ONE IS RESPONSIBLE

When a problem is "Society's Fault" everyone is at fault or the flip side of the same coin is NO ONE is at fault.

One can easily hear everyone else saying "Hey, you cant blame me, it is societies fault!"

With no fault goes no responsibility.

When a Cop goes ballistic as it appears the Detroit Cop who shot a man with a rake did, whose to blame?

Obviously besides the Cop, when the lawyers go hunting for money, is the blame with the Taxpayers or the Voters?

Being a taxpayer does not give you a voice in the ballot box.

Being a Voter gives you a voice in the ballot box.

Pretty simple so far.

Either the decision makers are responsible for their decisions or they are not.

A decision maker who is not responsible for his decisions is a fraud as a decision maker.

A decision maker who is not responsible for his decisions is in reality merely an "OPINION GIVER"!

To answer the question of blame or liability in the case of the shooting of the man with the rake, since no one is responsible, you cant blame the opionators, so who is left... might as well blame the taxpayers.

The Original American Voters

The birthday of the United States is July 4, 1776. This date is noted for decision makers publicly recording their decision by signing on to the Declaration of Independence. I find it extremely note worthy that the Declaration of Independence was not sanctioned by a secret ballot. The Declaration closes with these words, "And for the support of this Declaration, with a firm Reliance on the Protection of divine Providence, we mutually pledge to each other our Lives, our Fortunes, and our sacred Honor." These words reflect what should happen when decision makers vote. When decision makers pledge their lives, fortune and Honor, they are pledging to be responsible for their decisions.

The secret to corruption.

We are in need of reforming some of the reforms made in this nations history. After the Presidential election of 1884 secret balloting was introduced in to the United States.

The secret ballot is like chemotherapy while purporting to solve one problem it created others.

Mainly it removed voters from responsibility.

Secrecy in government is deadly.

Secrecy in government leads to the placement of children in households that are deadly to the children, with the government workers placement decisions shielded by secrecy (naturally in the name of protecting the children).

Secrecy in government leads to Star Chamber trials.

Voting needs to be removed from the shadow of secrecy!

Responsible voters need to stand up in public and be proud of the decisions they make.

THIS IS THE ESSENCE OF SELF GOVERNMENT!

My dream of reform

Responsible Voting. According to the liberals at the Detroit Free Press  "A democracy requires taking into account the opinions of everyone, whether or not you like them or their behavior." It is no wonder this country is in trouble, everyone call Oprah with their opinion... give me a break!

Get rid of secrecy, as our founding fathers demonstrated, our Republic can function just fine in the light of the day.

If the Voters blunder and deserve to be sued, then sue em! Don't sue an un-responsible set of citizens!

I believe that the concept of "Self Government" works best when:

"Roll call" votes in Congress:

If the voting booth is "sanctum sanctorum of democratic freedom" what was the voting booth before 1884?

Taxpayers and Voters are different sets of people with some folks members of both sets.

True  False

Of the People, by the People and for the People means:

Because publicly expressing one's decisions might make one uncomfortable:

I think that it is fair to punish people who are not responsible.

Why not hold all responsible for our Government, the People, and the People's Representatives to high standards?

Do you see the Concept of "Voter Accountability" as a refreshing way to revitalize the way we govern ourselves?
