Extraordinary Eh?

I recall hearing of the cop getting shot chasing someone who had broken into a house, I never assumed he was going to die, and it kind of shocked me when I saw on the news an hour later that he did. When I think of good cops this is who I think of.

I am afraid we blew it this past week folks.

A citizen is beaten and the cops don’t seem to care, a police officer is slain and the public does not seem to care.

When the officers lined up out side of Saint Christopher to have a moment of silence as Officer Leskie was carried out past the Colors of the United States, Canada, Michigan and Detroit, all the back ground traffic noise disappeared, all that could be heard was a few neighborhood dogs barking. It was a special moment to all present. All that was missing was citizen’s involvement.

The police are becoming more isolated from the public and their attitude towards “civilians” is not what it should be, maybe it is just getting harder to tell the good guys from the bad, attitudes develop and harden. I would venture to guess that the poor response given to the victims of the beatings after the fireworks was simply the bad attitude police have toward “civilians” slipping out.

Funereal services really don’t do much for the deceased, rather they comfort the surviving family and friends. When the public fails to comfort the police in a time of need, I hardly expect the attitudes police have toward civilians to improve, on the contrary, I see increased isolation.

Imagine what would of gone through the hearts of those Officers as they came out of the Church after the services to line up for the moment of silence and there were thousands of citizens waiting to stand with them.
