Extraordinary Eh?

Up

This is a Fancy Eating room in the United States Capitol Building!

This is part of the Memorial for the Tomb of the Unknown

Why would Congress keep their Fancy Eating Rooms all gussied all the while Arlington National Cemetery suffers?
One thoughtful answer:

What does a fancy eating room have to do with Arlington Cemetery? So Congressman have a nice place to eat, at least I see some use of my tax dollars. I would rather see my money spent on the living than the dead.

What do dead people at Arlington Cemetery need? They have no needs. OK maybe
the lawn needs CUT!!!

What could Arlington Cemetery possibly NEED?

Don't tell me you want to raise new tax revenue to update Arlington cemetery?

I know that the leaders of this country indulge themselves at the taxpayers expense, But if I posed your question in a different way, instead of using Arlington cemetery as an example I used Poor black inner city youths,  you  would accuse me of being a liberal.

And Marks thoughtful response:

Arlington Cemetery And the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier is essentially a Park, for all living citizens to go to and remember those who weren't quite as adept as Clinton in avoiding military service.

The brick work I pointed out, merely needs some maintenance. Sorry but no tax increase is needed. The park generates it's own revenue, it costs over $1.00 an hour just to park there. All that is lacking is a little direction.

Weather the transferring of this country's wealth, to the belly of a Rich Black Congressman or the belly of Poor White inner city youths, is a constitutional mandate of the Federal Government, I think is a legitimate question. I don't see that it is. One could even argue that Federal policies hasten the break up of families, as broken families qualified for "more aid", resulting in more poor white youths.

Since the Federal Government is springing for lunch in Fancy Eating Rooms, or Inner City Eating Rooms, shouldn't the fact that everyone is equal under the law result in the Federal Government providing EVERYONE with lunch? Or do you prefer that some folks be MORE EQUAL than others, with the others picking up the tab?

At least with a park, EVERYONE is welcome. And that my friend is what Fancy Eating Rooms have to do with  Arlington Cemetery!

You tell me
